Coverage bar raised during 13-14 winter sports season

We don't make it a point to laud our accomplishments very much, but I had to take a few moments to express just how very proud I am of what our team here at ScoringLive was able to do during this very schedule packed winter season.

In a 28-day stretch, we posted 129 stories, which included daily coverage of just about every state tournament sport in a very crazy two-week marathon. Contained within those stories are well over 2,200 images taken at venues all over the state.

The month of February also featured our second straight year of live streaming video coverage of the the Pacific Islands Athletic Alliance National Letter of Intent Signing Ceremony, a tradition that we intend to continue as long as Doris Sullivan and company put on the event.

What might be bigger than the amount of content produced, at least for ScoringLive as a staff, is the response we get from the community, not just in numbers (more on that in a second), but the comments and conversations we have at games with parents and fans. It really is uplifting to see how our work is a positive impact on student athletes and their circles, and at least for myself, is a huge reason why SL is the success that it has become thus far.

New ground was also broken for us numbers-wise in the winter season of 2014, as just south of 3 million pages of content were served in just a 3 month timespan.

Also gratifying for me from a server administrator standpoint was the fact that despite the numbers, we didn't experience any major outages at any point, thanks in large part to the countless hours of tweaking our software and hardware to scale in relation to our traffic.

So a big, big shout out goes to the staff at ScoringLive for the effort they bring each and every night in providing the best coverage of high school sports in the state.
