Tacon to take helm of Kamehameha boys program

Greg Tacon has announced via Facebook Wednesday that he has accepted the position of head boys basketball coach at Kamehameha-Kapalama.

Tacon has served as head coach at Moanalua the past seven years and has led Na Menehune to back-to-back Oahu Interscholastic Association Red Division championships in 2010 and 2011.

It will be Tacon's second stint in the Interscholastic League of Honolulu. Prior to Moanalua, he spent six seasons as head coach at Punahou.

Tacon replaces Julian Nakanishi, who guided Kamehameha to a 14-8 record last season. It is the second major coaching hire at Kamehameha in less than a week. Former Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowl tight end Doug Cosbie was named head football coach over the weekend.
