Moanalua advanced to the Division I semifinals of the DataHouse/HHSAA Softball Championships with a 19-0 win over Hilo, a game that was shortened by the mercy rule.
Na Menehune racked up 22 hits, while allowing just two in five innings of play, with starter Cyanne Fernandez picking up the win after 2 2/3 innings of work. She allowed just one hit, striking out 5 and walking four.
Offensively, five Moanalua players accumulated three hits in the contest, led by Makamae Kaleikini, who finished 3-for-4 from the plate with 3 runs scored and 3 RBIs.
Up next for Moanalua is a collision course with Kamehameha a 5-1 winner over Leilehua in the 5:00 p.m. semifinal Thursday.
