Moanalua sent eight batters to the plate in a four-run first then held off Kapolei, 7-4, in the opening round of the DataHouse Division I state softball tournament Tuesday at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.
Na Menehune will meet fourth-seeded Hilo in a quarterfinal set for 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Chrissi Omalza batted 3 for 4, scoring three runs. Her two-run single ignited the four-run first inning against losing pitcher Kacee Navarro.
