Michael Austin, Noah Sakatani and Kelan Yoshioka combine to post a four-hit shutout as Kaiser bested Moanalua, 2-0, in an afternoon game at Kaiser High School.
Austin went four innings as the starter for the Cougars, allowing just three hits, striking out 2 and walking three. Sakatani came on in relief and allowed just one hit with a strikeout and 2 walks, and Kelan Yoshioka pitched a scoreless seventh to get the save.
Jake Torigoe went 1-for-3 with a run scored hitting in the leadoff spot for the Cougars, and Yoshioka was 1-for-3 with a walk and and stolen base.
Moanalua starter Jaraad Salas pitched a strong game in the loss, going 5 innings, allowing two runs (1 earned) on five hits, striking out 3 and walking four.
