WAIALUA — The Roosevelt Rough Riders returned four interceptions for touchdowns to race past the Waialua Bulldogs, 47-7, in an Oahu Interscholastic Association Division II Friday night contest at Toshiyuki Nakasone Field.

The Rough Riders — Ranked No. 10 in the ScoringLive/Hawaiian Electric Division II Football Power Rankings — improved to a 4-3 record to end the regular season with a three-game winning streak.

After a scoreless first quarter, senior Jared Elwin rushed for a 7-yard touchdown to get the scoring going for the Rough Riders. Later in the quarter, Elwin snagged not just one, but two interceptions off Waialua freshman quarterback Justyce Lacar, returning both for touchdowns of 64 and 45 yards.

With the game winding down in the fourth quarter, sophomore Kyler Dicion hooked up with senior Matthan Hatchie for an 18-yard pass to score just the Bulldog's fifth touchdown of the entire season.

A season removed from winning the OIA D2 Champioship, Waialua finishes the season at 0-7 (0-8 overall). The last time they finished a season winless was 2012.

Roosevelt will finish the regular season with a winning record for the first time since 2007. They will also hold the fourth seed in the four-team OIA D2 Playoffs and will match up with No. 2 Waipahu later this month. The Rough Riders previously lost to the Marauders, 35-8, on Aug. 25.
