No. 2 Saint Lous took a commanding lead after the first four innings and held off No. 4 Iolani, 9-5, in an ILH Division I contest Tuesday.

The Crusaders (3-0) took an early lead after Sean Yamaguchi scored off a wild pitch and padded their lead with a three-run second inning over the home team.

Yamaguchi scored his second run in the third off Kolby Gushiken's single and Chase Sutherland brought in Kaili Kane for a 6-0 lead.

The Crusaders walked in a run and Kane plated two more on a line drive to go up, 9-0.

Isaac Ahokovi tripled to score two runs to get Iolani on the scoreboard in the fifth and Kaimana Lau Kong drove in another in the sixth.

The Raiders loaded the bases on consecutive singles by Cole Ide and Treyden Chong Kee and Ahokovi was beaned. Makana Oniate grounded into a fielder's choice as Ide and Chong Kee scored off an error to get within four runs.

Oni Dawson flew out to center and Kainalu Kane lined out to third to end the game.

Tanner Chun (2-0) picked up the win with five innings pitched, 51 of his 98 pitches went for strikes to strike out eight and walked four.

Landen Kaneshiro (0-1) took the loss, surrendering four hits, six runs were earned with three walks and two strikes.

Saint Louis takes on No. 9 Punahou (0-3) on Thursday and closes out the week against PAC-5 (0-2) on Saturday.

Iolani faces PAC-5 on Thursday and goes to Mid-Pacific (2-0) on Saturday.

Both teams are slated to play again on Apr. 2 at Ala Wai field.
