KAPOLEI - Jacob Kukahiko rushed for two scores as Kapolei rolled past the Castle, 30-0. With the victory Friday night, the Hurricanes advance to the second round of the OIA playoffs, where they will face off with East number two seed Farrington.

The first score for the Hurricanes came eight minutes into the first half, as senior running back Jacob Kukahiko sliced and diced his way through the Castle defense for a 14-yard score. The Kukahiko touchdown would cap off a three-play drive after a failed fake punt by the Knights.

Kapolei scored again with 19 seconds left to go in the first quarter, capitalizing off a Castle fumble on the one yard line as Kukahiko would get his second score as hurdling over the pile of Castle and Kapolei linemen. Stoyanow's kick made the game 14-0 at the end of the first period.

Kukahiko finished the night with 11 carries for 78 yards rushing.

The rushing attack of the Hurricanes would continued to haunt the Castle Knights in the second quarter. Senior running back Tevin Sam Sing would get in on the rushing action as he plunged his way for a 2-yard score.

Hurricanes finished the night with 203 yards rushing and 301 yards of total offense.

Two scores in the second half by the Hurricanes sealed the victory for the home team. A five-yard scamper by junior running back Mana Reis put Kapolei up 28-0 at the 11:31 mark of the third quarter, then a tackle in the end-zone of a Castle player by Israel Latu-Reyes would be the final points scored in the game as the Hurricanes blanked the Knights.

Castle ended the night with 230 yards passing for the night and 239 total yards of offense.
