Wong picked for Futures Game

There's no slowing down Kamehameha-Hawaii alumnus Kolten Wong.

The 2008 Hawaii High School Hall of Famer has been selected to the United States team for the Futures Game on July 8 at Kansas City's Kauffman Stadium.

The Futures Game is a minor league all-star game for Major League Baseball's top prospects. The teams are made up of American players and a World Team made up of minor leaguers born outside of the U.S. The game is played in conjunction with the July 10 MLB All-Star Game.

Wong, a first-round pick by the St. Louis Cardinals last year out of the University of Hawaii, is playing at Double-A Springfield (Mo.) of the Texas League. He is hitting .301 with seven doubles, four triples and seven home runs with 39 runs scored and 31 RBI in 65 games.
