Kahaku Iaea's grand slam home run over the fence in right field capped off a five-run sixth for Kailua, who lead Kaiser by an 11-4 margin with play suspended due to darkness.

Play will resume from the bottom of the sixth next Monday at 3:30 p.m.

The Surfriders jumped in front early, scoring one run off a single by Kaipo Oamilda-Scholtz and another when the runner at third scored while Oamilda-Scholtz, hung out on a pick-off play attempt, was able to avoid being tagged out.

Kaiser would rally to take the lead in the bottom of the third. Jordan Simao would score on a fielder's choice for the Cougars' first run, and Kelan Yoshioka would tie the game up on a single between third and short that would bring home Tyler Lau.

Makana Lyman would later score on a wild pitch to give the Cougars a 3-2 lead.

Kailua repsonded in the top of the fourth, benefiting from three Kaiser errors and sending nine batters to the plate in a three-run inning to vault back into the lead, 5-3.

The Cougars would get a run back in the bottom of the fifth on a Kailua miscue, but would miss out on tying the score when a Kaiser baserunner was called out at the plate while trying to score from second on a Michael Austin single.

In the top of the sixth, Kailua would open up the inning by loading the bases on a walk, followed by a single by Kila Zuttermeister and a hit batsmen. Zuttermeister would be forced out at third for the first out, but Bryce Ah Sam would single to load the bags once again.

Then, with the sunlight quickly beginning to wane behind the buildings across the street in right field, Iaea would unload the bases with his fence-clearing shot to right to increase the lead to 11-4.

Aaron Oda would allow another single between two strikeouts to end the scoring for Kailua, and gameplay was suspended shortly after.

Zuttermeister was a perfect 4-for-4 from the plate, including a double to go along with a run scored and a RBI for Kailua.

Kaiser's Yoshioka was 2-for-2 with an RBI and a stolen base.
