Hanalani rolls past Le Jardin to secure D2 state berth

Kainoa Souza-Chavez scored 21 points to lead the way as Hanalani rolled to a 64-38 win over Le Jardin, securing the ILH's final berth into next week's HHSAA Division II Boys Basketball Tournament.

Christian Peterson added 14 points and Pomi Milton 9 for Hanalani, who joins regular season champion St. Francis as the two representatives from the ILH.

Le Jardin kept things close in the first half, trailing by just 21-19, but the Royals went on to outscore the Bulldogs 16-9 in the third quarter and added a 24-13 spurt to close out the game.

Frankie Montalvo had 8 points for Le Jardin in the loss.
