Matthew Nuumanaia scored a game-high 12 points help keep the Saints undefeated in ILH Division II play, as Saint Francis squeezes out a 41-38 win over upset-minded Le Jardin.

Saint Francis led 20-18 at halftime, and 27-23 after three periods, but eventually built up a lead that grew to nearly double digits early in the fourth.

But the Bulldogs clawed their way back to within 3 points late in the final period, converting a number of missed free throws down the stretch by the Saints into points on the other end of the floor.

Le Jardin had a chance to tie the game up with under 10 seconds left in the contest on Jake Blaskowski's three-point attempt from the corner, but the shot caromed wide. Alec Macleod retrieve the rebound off the bounce, but his desperation heave at the buzzer came up short.

Nuumanaia left the game about midway through the fourth quarter with what appeared to a leg injury, and did not return.

Sean McWhinnie led Le Jardin with 9 points.
