Nitta Baseball Tournament starts today


The eight-team Glenn Nitta Baseball Tournament starts Friday at various sites.

In opening-round games today, host Mililani will play Kamehameha, 'Iolani will play Roosevelt at Stevenson Intermediate, Saint Louis will take on Kalani at Kahala Field and Mid-Pacific will travel to Moanalua. All games start at 4 p.m.

The tourney continues Saturday with the first-round winners playing semifinals at 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. and the first-round losers playing at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. All games will be at Mililani.

Sunday's games start from 8:30 a.m. with the championship set for 4 p.m.

The tournament is sponsored by Mililani High and is named after its athletic director and former baseball coach.
