Island School, KS-Hawaii to face off for Division II title

One team is seeking its first ever, while the other hopes to make it a third straight.

Island School took down PAC-5, 3-1, to reach the first boys soccer state tournament final in school history, while two-time defending champ Kamehameha-Hawaii rolled to a 3-0 win over Seabury Hall to make its third straight finals appearance, setting up the final pairing in the Motiv8 Foundation/HHSAA Division II Boys Soccer Championships.

Sawyer Rogoff scored in the 14th minute to put the Voyagers up early, but the Wolfpack equalized eight minutes later on a goal by Noelan Bowler. The lead swung back into the Voyagers favor for good when Hunter Kerry got a goal in the 23rd for a 2-1 halftime lead. A late score by Eddie Silliman in the 67th minute of the second half capped off the scoring in the match.

In the first semifinal of the afternoon, the Warriors got on the board midway trhrough the opening half on the first of William Henderson's two goals in the 22nd minute, the got an insurance goal on Henderson's second score in the 71st. Iopa Quintana found the back in the net in the 75th minute to cap off the scoring for Kamehameha-Hawaii.

Kickoff for the Division II title game is set for 5 p.m. back at Waipio Soccer Penninsula,
