Kaneohe - Castle holds on to defeat Kalani 1-0 at home on Wednesday night. 

This is the first time the Knights have claimed a victory over the Falcons since ScoringLive began covering boys soccer back in 2012.

The Knights, who moved down to Division II this year, are now 3-0 in OIA Eastern Division play while the Falcons fall to 3-1.

The game started off with both sides running a possession-heavy game plan. The Knights and Falcons defenses remained composed and smothered all attempts that came their way. 

Both sides looked to reamin in deadlock, until the breakthrough goal came for Castle near the end of the first half.

In the 35th minute, junior midfielder Damon Turcios collected a ball around the 50 yard line and played a through ball for forward Rider MacMillan. MacMillan, a freshman, ran on to the end of the pass, collected it, and fired a shot at Kalani goalkeeper Hunter Kwok Tak Hing. Kwok Tak Hing made the inital save, but the ball bobbled and bounced just over the line to give the Knights the lead.

After halftime, the Falcons came out aggresively and put a lot of pressure on the home town Knights. The Falcons accumulated a multitude of throw ins, corners, and a few dangerous freekicks. However, those chances were either defended well by the Knights or lack that final bit of precision needed to tie the game up.

The best and last chance for the Falcons to level came with seconds left in the match when Cody Fuse took on a defender and fell to the turf in the Castle penalty box. The referee deemed it to not be a penalty kick and the game ended a few plays after.

After the final whistle, Fuse took his fustrations of the call out on the referee and recieved a straight red, meaning that he will miss the next game for Kalani.

Castle will look to remain undefeated as they host Moanalua at home this Saturday. Kalani, who have no home games this year, will look to bounce back as they travel to Kalaheo this Friday.
