Follow-up message from the OIA on Kalaheo-Kalani football game

To all players, parents, and community supporters from Kalani and Kalaheo high schools. I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to provide a follow-up on the game cancellation due to referee unavailability that took place on October 7, 2023.

First and foremost, I want to again express my heartfelt apologies for the disappointment and inconvenience this situation has caused, especially to our senior players who have dedicated years to the sport. We understand the frustration this cancellation has generated, and we deeply regret that we were unable to fulfill our goal to provide a meaningful game experience.

My mission to rectifying this situation remains unwavering. I have diligently worked with the relevant parties to ensure that such circumstances do not occur in the future. Additionally, I am looking forward to both teams playing a great game on Friday, October 20.

We are dedicated to ensuring that our league maintains its integrity and provides the best possible opportunities for our players. We hope you enjoy the game with no admission charged, Friday at Kaiser High, game time set for 6 p.m.!

Thank you again.

Sincerely,
Raymond Fujino, OIA Executive Director
