Pearl City pulls away from McKinley to stay unbeaten

Trey Dacoscos passed fro 219 yards and four touchdowns, including three to Tobias Vasquez, to lead Pearl City to 42-6 win over visiting McKinley at Bino Neves Saturday night. 

The Chargers (4-0 overall, 3-0 OIA D2) scored half of their points in the fourth quarter to pull away from the Tigers (0-4, 0-3). 

Dacoscos completed 13 of his 23 pass attempts and was intercepted once. All three of Vasquez's receptions went for touchdowns. His 59-yard TD catch represented the only score of the opening quarter. Vasquez pulled down a 26-yard scoring strike from Dacoscos in the second quarter and the pair hooked up once more in the final stanza on a 7-yard TD pass. 

Vasquez finished with 106 receiving yards. 

Keaton Tomas recorded six receptions for a game-high 120 yards, including a 75-yard touchdown reception that gave the Chargers a 21-0 lead in the second quarter. 

McKinley's lone points came on a 40-yard TD pass from Iosua Sefo to Tanner Hiromasa that cut Pearl City's lead to 21-7 in the third quarter. 

The Chargers tallied 410 yards of total offense and held the Tigers to 237 total yards. 

Pearl City, the only unbeaten team in the OIA D2 standings, will have a bye next week before it hosts Waialua on Sept. 22. 

McKinley will also have next week off before it tries for win No. 1 against Kaiser on Sept. 23 at Ticky Vasconcellos Stadium.
