Top-seeded Waimea routs Radford in D2 nightcap

Top-seeded Waimea made sure there were no upsets in the quarterfinals of the DataHouse Division II Softball Championships.

The Menehune defeated Radford in five innings, 15-4, in the final game at McKinley's Tiger Softball Stadium Wednesday night.

Waimea moves on to face fourth-seeded Kamehameha-Hawaii in the 2:30 p.m. semifinal at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium on Thursday. Second-seeded Nanakuli will face third-seeded PAC-5 in the first semifinal, which starts at 11:30 a.m.

Sianna Sakai and Ryleah Torres each tallied three hits apiece to power the Menehune over the Rams. Kaelyn Banquel also hit a two-run homer that gave Waimea an 8-0 lead after the second inning.

Taelor Camelo earned the pitching win in the circle with three strikeouts. All the runs charged against her were unearned.

Audrey Hoffman drove in two runs to lead Radford in the loss.
