Trojans shut down visiting Na Menehune

Mililani was in cruise control for most of the night against visiting Moanalua as it posted a 56-0 win Saturday night in an OIA Open Division contest at John Kauinana Stadium.

The Trojans (3-1 overall, 2-0 league) held Na Menehune to just 49 yards of total offense as they totaled four sacks, three interceptions and added two defensive scores.

Ezekiel Rodrigues intercepted Moanalua's first pass attempt of the game and returned it 35 yards to the house to give Mililani an early 7-0 lead.

Kingsten Samuelu scored on a 29-yard run and a 1-yard plunge to push the lead to 21-0 at the 3:35 mark of the first quarter.

Sisco Kaleopaa-Ancheta forced a fumble on the ensuing kickoff to set up a short field for the Trojans' offense. Treston "Kini" McMillan scored on a 10-yard scamper after the takeaway to give Mililani a 28-0 lead after the opening stanza.

Emana Tarape played two drives at quarterback in the first quarter and took all the snaps behind center in the final three periods. He finished the game completing 15 of 24 passes for 266 yards and a 46-yard touchdown that went to Onosai Salanoa to make it a 35-0 game at halftime.

Jensyn McGee returned the second half kickoff 95 yards to add to the Trojans' lead and Timothy Wallace took his second interception of the night 22 yards to pay dirt midway through the third quarter.

Jaylan Johnson capped the scoring with an 18-yard TD run at the 8:24 mark of the fourth quarter.

Keenan Ulu led Moanalua (1-2-1, 0-1) in the loss with three catches for 49 yards.
