No. 6 Kamehameha blows out No. 3 Mid-Pacific

Third-ranked Mid-Pacific looked good out of the gate early with a run scored in the first half-inning of the game.

Then Aukai Kea happened.

The Kamehameha third baseman crushed a three-run homer in the bottom of the first to jumpstart a series of unanswered runs that powered the sixth-ranked Warriors to a 11-1 mercy-rule win over the Owls in the ILH Division I double-elimination tournament Saturday afternoon at Hans L'Orange Field.

Kea, a sophomore that bats clean-up for the Warriors, finished with five RBIs and two runs scored as he went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Kamehameha (11-4-1), who will play Punahou next Thursday in a 3:30 p.m. contest at Central Oahu Regional Park.

Mid-Pacific's Kodey Shojinaga recorded the hit that scored courtesy runner Jake Comeaux, but that was all that the Owls (10-6) could muster as Kamehameha's Blade Paragas earned the pitching win and was impressive the rest of the way with four strikeouts.

Aydan Lobetos and Beau Sylvester also registered multiple RBIs for the Warriors.

The Owls now turn their attention towards Saint Louis (12-2-1), who saw its 10-game winning streak come to an end against the Buffanblu. Mid-Pacific will take on the Crusaders next Tuesday in a 3:30 p.m. contest at Ala Wai.
