Rams run wild in rout of Tigers

Christian Payton ran for four touchdowns, all before halftime, to lead Radford to a 62-20 route of McKinley at Farrington's Edward 'Skippa' Diaz Stadium Saturday night. 

The Rams ran for 253 of their 416 yards of total offense to improve to 3-0 and remain tied with Kaiser atop the Oahu Interscholastic Association Division II standings. 

Payton scored on runs of 2, 31, 17 and 17 yards. He finished with 147 rushing yards on 17 carries. Radford also got 123 rushing yards and two more scores on 12 carries by Michael Hayslett, while quarterback Kalob Victorino-Avilla passed for 163 yards and three touchdowns on 13-of-19 passing.

Jack Carlson recorded six receptions for 93 yards and TD grabs of 19 yards and one yard that were part of a 28-yard second quarter for the Rams. 

Michael Papa caught four passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns for the Tigers, who got 280 passing yards from quarterback Dustin Chow, but were held to minus-31 rushing yards in defeat. 

The Tigers fell to 0-2 and will play Kalani (2-1) Saturday at Kaiser. 

Radford will host Kaiser (3-0) Friday night at John E. Velasco Stadium, with sole possession of first place in the OIA D2 standings at stake.
