OIA releases updated schedules for fall sports

The Oahu Interscholastic Association released revised schedules for its fall sports season on Wednesday afternoon. Included are football, girls volleyball, air riflery, bowling, cheerleading, cross country, soft tennis and JV softball.

The football schedule begins on the weekend of Oct. 15-16 with nine games across three divisions.

All three Open Division games (Waianae at Mililani, Kahuku at Kapolei, Farrington at Campbell) will take place on Friday, Oct. 15. Kailua will host Aiea in a Division I matchup and Kalaheo will visit Pearl City in a Division II game that same night. The following night will see Waipahu play host to Roosevelt in D1 and a trio of D2 games (Radford-Kaimuki at Farrington, Kalani at Kaiser, Waialua-McKinley at Roosevelt).

The league championship games will be hosted by the higher seeded teams on Dec. 10 (Open), Dec. 11 (D1) and Dec. 18 (D2). The HHSAA state tournament will be held in the final two weekends in December.

Meanwhile, the OIA girls volleyball season will get underway on Tuesday, Oct. 12 for the Eastern Division and Wednesday, Oct. 13 for the Western Division teams. The season culminates with the league championship on Dec. 1, before the HHSAA state tournament wraps up Dec. 6-10.
