Top Performers Flashback: Kayla Afoa

Kayla Afoa was a study of consistency for the Warriors during her four years as a Warrior and that steady play proved key in a three-set win over Punahou at Kekahaupio Gym on September 24, 2016, as she put down 11 kills with 17 digs and three total blocks in a 25-21, 21-25 and 25-18 victory.

The three set win helped the Warriors remain unbeaten at 8-0 in the Interscholastic League of Honolulu Division I standings, but that streak was ultimately halted at nine a week later with a home to Iolani.

Kamehameha went on to post a 13-2 record in ILH play and a 16-3 mark overall in 2016, reaching the Division I title game but falling to the freshman Elena Oglivie and league rival Raiders in a five set marathon.

Afoa was named to both the All-Hawaii and ILH Division I first team at outside hitter her senior year, and was also named to the 2016 HHSAA Hall of Honor.
