Quarterback Isaac Hurd completed 16 of 24 passes for 282 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for two more TDs to keep the Campbell's hopes alive for a division title with a win over Waianae on Sept. 13, 2013.

After a scoreless first quarter, the Sabers scored first, driving 57 yards on six plays with Hurd scoring from 11 yards. He faked to tailback Austin May, who went right, and Hurd went left to the end zone to give the Sabers a 7-0 lead with 9:57 in the first half.

With the threat of the run, Wai'anae's Kekoa Kaluhiokalani was able to burn the Sabers for TD passes of 52 and 12 yards to Pookela Noa-Nakamoto, who had five receptions for 143 of Kaluhiokalani's 164 passing yards.

With Wai'anae holding a 24-19 lead late in the fourth quarter, the Seariders lined up to punt, facing fourth-and-8 from their 39. But the snap from center sailed over the punter Stanton Spencer's head. Spencer retrieved the ball, but was chased toward the end zone from the oncoming rush. Then he seemed to toss the ball, perhaps to a team, but there were only Sabers in the vicinity and Kea Cambra came out with the ball for the go-ahead TD.

There was no stopping Hurd, who used his legs and arm to keep the Sabers close. He cushioned the Sabers' lead with his 25-yard TD pass to Keola Himan on a bubble screen to the left with 1:01 left. The drive was sustained with a crucial 16-yard pickup when Hurd found Jayce Bantolina open on third-and-8 from the Sabers' 35. Tyler Subia's PAT gave the Sabers an eight-point lead.

The Sabers' defense was staunch against the option, holding the Seariders to 143 yards rushing. One difference for the Sabers was a goal-line stand on Wai'anae's first series of the game. Kaluhiokalani had 55 yards after his first four carries, but ended with 68 by his 13th try. Fullback Tau had 64 yards and tailback Jemery Willes had 48.
