Chargers hand Sabers first loss of the year

They don't call it the Wild West for nothing.

No. 7 Pearl City picked up its statement win of the year as it bested No. 4 Campbell on the road, 4-3, in an OIA West match Friday night.

Kainoa Wong and Kody Fujioka each found the back of the net twice to lead the Chargers (6-2), who handed the Sabers their first loss of the season.

The loss dropped Campbell (7-1) into second place in the league standings with 21 championship points as a pivotal game against league leader Kapolei (7-0-1) looms on the horizon next Tuesday.

Braeden Molina, Christopher TenBroeke and Kaleb Sabino each scored for the Sabers.
