KAPOLEI — Kapolei senior De'Zhaun Stribling did a little bit of everything Friday night as he recorded a passing, rushing and receiving touchdown to help carry the 'Canes past Kamehameha, 27-3, in an Oahu Interscholastic Association-Interscholastic League of Honolulu Open Division interleague matchup for Homecoming night at the Hurricanes' home field.

Stribling scored on a 23-yard run, threw a 26-yard touchdown pass to Dycen Coyaso and then was on the receiving end of a 39-yard scoring toss from Noa Bailey.

Defensively, the Hurricanes limited the Warriors to just three points and had four second-half takeaways.

With Farrington's win over Waianae (0-5) Friday night, the Governors (2-2) clinched the fourth and final spot in the OIA Open Division Playoffs. Kapolei's loss to Farrington earlier in the month gives the Govs the head-to-head tiebreaker should the two teams finish with equal regular season records.

The Hurricanes will close out their season next Saturday at Mililani (4-0) while Kamehameha travels to Waianae on Friday.
