Waialua won this seesaw battle.

The Bulldogs built an 18-0 lead, but trailed 24-18 at the half before storming back for a 49-36 win over visiting Kalaheo Saturday night at Toshiyuki Nakasone Field in an Oahu Interscholastic Association Division II contest.

Kyler Dicion ran for a score and tossed three scoring strikes to Kai Hoekstra to lead Waialua in the win.

Jordan Neufeldt scored four touchdowns on the ground to lead the Mustangs in the loss. He ran in scores of 5, 1 and 1 yards as part of Kalaheo's 24-unanswered scoring barrage in the second quarter.

Following halftime, the Waialua defense held Kalaheo to just 12 points and also pitched in on the scoring with Dylan Yadao's 62-yard pick-6 in the fourth quarter.

Waialua now sits at 2-2 in league play and is currently tied with Nanakuli at the No. 4 spot in the standings — though the Bulldogs own the head-to-head tiebreaker since they beat the Golden Hawks to open the season. They'll travel to Hawaii Kai to take on undefeated Kaiser next Saturday.

Kalaheo is still seeking its first win and will host PAC-5 next Friday at Kailua High School.
