Cougars take to air to down Falcons

HAWAII KAI — Four different Kaiser players caught touchdown passes to help the Cougars crush Kalani, 34-10, in an Oahu Interscholastic Association Division II double homefield battle Saturday evening at Kaiser Stadium.

Freshman quarterback Easton Yoshino tossed three of those scores with the first one going to older brother Mason Yoshino on a one-yard slant on the Cougars' first offensive possession. Easton Yoshino later hooked up with Kamakana Mahiko and Cavin Lime for 21 and 35 yards, respectively.

Junior Brock Perreira also got work in behind center, finishing out Kaiser's scoring with a 14-yard dime to Jesse Stroede in the back left corner of the end zone.

Kalani, who also uses Kaiser Stadium when hosting games, responded to Kaiser's first score with a 43-yard field goal from Kevin Tabuchi. But it was all Cougars after that until the Falcons found the end zone on Nicholas Sakamoto's two-yard run near the top of the final quarter.

Kaiser improved to 3-0 in the OIA and 5-0 overall. They'll return home next Friday for a matchup against Kaimuki (3-0, 4-1).

The Falcons will travel to Roosevelt to take on McKinley (1-3, 1-4) next Saturday.
