MPI alum Wyatt Young named Cape all-star

Mid-Pacific Institute alumnus Wyatt Young has been named starting shortstop for the Eastern Division for Sunday's Cape Cod League All-Star Game, according to the league's website.

Young, who just completed his freshman year at Pepperdine, was ScoringLive's All-Hawaii shortstop in 2018. He is the Cape's second-leading hitter with a .365 batting average playing for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox.

Young started all 49 games for Pepperdine this past season, posting a .313 batting average with a team-leading 67 hits.

The Cape is considered the premiere summer collegiate league, which features a number of prospects.
