Nominations for the 37th class of the Hawaii High School Hall of Honor will be accepted through May 1.
Nomination forms must be postmarked by May 1 and should include a senior portrait, action photograph and up to six pages of supporting material.
Twelve senior athletes will be chosen by a committee on May 18. The selected athletes will be honored with a dinner banquet June 2 at the Dole Cannery's Pomaikai Ballroom.
The Hawaii High School Hall of Honor was established in 1982 to recognize athletic excellence and achievements of Hawaii's high school athletes. Along with the induction into the Hall of Honor, each student-athlete receives a $2,000 Enterprise Rent-A-Car college scholarship, which may be used to offset college education expenses (tuition, books, and room and board).
Athletic achievement is given primary consideration by the selection committee. Other qualities considered include: versatility, sportsmanship, leadership, dedication, academic achievement, school activities, community involvement, and character and behavior on and off the playing field.
Questions regarding the HHSAA Hall of Honor scholarship program should be directed to the HHSAA office at (808) 800-4092 or [email protected] with a "Hall of Honor" subject line.
