KAPALAMA HEIGHTS — Kamehameha came swinging out the gates as Lori Char was able to find the back of the net twice within the first two minutes of play, but Punahou steadied itself to even the game up and eventually overpowered the Warriors to pull away, 10-5, Tuesday night in an Interscholastic League of Honolulu clash at Kamehameha Schools Kapalama Kalaniopuu Aquatic Center.

League leading scorer Christina Hicks was a force on both sides of the ball as she netted four goals with fellow junior Dillyn Lietzke also scoring four times to power the Buffanblu to an 8-0 record and their 128th-consecutive victory in Hawaii competition dating back to the beginning of the 2008 season.

Hicks tied the match twice at two apiece and then right before halftime to make it a 4-4 game. Lietzke scored all of her goals in the second half as Punahou rattled off six unanswered points.

Victoria Gacutan got the Buffanblu on the scoreboard first at the 3:14 mark of the first quarter for her lone goal.

Sierra Smart netted Punahou's remaining goal.

Kamehameha's Char finished with three goals while Shaye Story added a pair in the Warriors' closest match of the season against the 11-time defending state champions.
