Despite giving up seven runs in the bottom of the fourth, Damien's early 8-0 lead helped the Monarchs hold off Hanalani, 12-8, in an ILH contest at Hans L'Orange Park Tuesday afternoon.

River Iaea pitched three solid innings of relief with five strikeouts — including three straight in the bottom of the seventh — and earned the win for Damien, who improved to 2-8 with its second straight victory over the winless Royals (0-10).

Jordan Donahue led the Monarchs at the plate with four RBIs on a triple and a double.

Michael Kawasaki got the start for Damien and went three scoreless innings.

Tyler Lee, who was the only Hanalani pitcher that was not charged with a run scored, led the Royals with three RBIs.
