The seeded teams held true in the opening round of the Snapple Division II Boys Basketball Championships.

Third-seeded Hawaii Prep and second-seeded Farrington handled their competition in the first round to set up Friday's semifinal game at Kalani's Earl C. Holmer Gymnasium, which will follow the 5:00 p.m. semifinal between top-seeded Damien and fourth-seeded Seabury Hall.

Valentinas Ulinas scored 22 points with eight rebounds to lead Ka Makani to a 50-42 win over University. Three Jr. Bows scored in double figures, led by Leif Fautanu's 14 points.

Aaron Bagoisan scored 14 points and Raefe McEnroe added 13 to lead the Governors to a 62-52 win over Kauai. Ricky Ralston had a double-double of 13 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Red Raiders in the loss.
