Farrington, Waianae move to Division I

The Oahu Interscholastic Association baseball season gets underway March 6.

Farrington and Waianae are moving up from Division II to play in the OIA East and OIA West, respectively.

Moving from Division I to II are Kalaheo from the East and Waipahu from the West.

The league will feature five new coaches:
Campbell: Glenn Flores replaced Rory Pico, who became the school's athletics director.
Castle: Shane Kauhane replaced John Hao, who filled in after Rocky Fraticelli resigned.
Kahuku: Andrew Lowe replaced Blaine Kise.
Kalani: Reyn Nagamine replaced Shannon Hirai, who retired.
Leilehua: Marc Rios replaced Spencer Omalza.

As it did last season, the OIA's sixth-place team will play the Big Island Interscholastic Federations's runner-up for the final Division I state berth.
