No. 1 Kamehameha handles No. 7 Moanalua

Defending state champion Kamehameha took care of business Thursday night.

The Warriors made quick work of Moanalua at McKinley's Student Council Gymnasium in the quarterfinals of the New City Nissan Division I Girls Volleyball State Championships with a 25-16, 25-12, 25-17 victory.

Keonilei Akana had 14 kills and Malie McClure added 10 more to power Kamehameha (13-1) into the semifinals where it will face Kahuku in the second match at McKinley on Friday.

Tayli Ikenaga put down 12 kills to lead Na Menehune (12-4) in the loss.
