To be the champ, you have to beat the champ.

Unbeaten Moanalua redeemed itself after last year's Oahu Interscholastic Association Division I title match loss with a four-set win over defending champ Mililani, 25-19, 25-13, 22-25, 25-14, in the league semifinals Monday night at Jim Alegre Gymnasium.

Na Menehune (13-0), who won six straight OIA D1 titles before losing the crown in 2017, will meet Kaiser (12-1) Wednesday night for the league championship on Wednesday. Moanalua won the regular season meeting between the two teams, 26-24, 25-22.

Max Slaughter had a double-double of 14 kills and 13 digs and Kalai Leopoldo added 10 kills, 13 digs and six aces to power Moanalua in the win.

Nate Johnson put down 12 kills and 13 digs to lead the Trojans (9-3) in the loss.
