KAKAAKO — Campbell hit the ball Thursday night, and they hit it hard.

The fourth-ranked Campbell Sabers clobbered six of their 10 hits for extra bases as they mercy ruled the No. 3 Mililani Trojans, 12-2, in five innings of Oahu Interscholastic Association West play at McKinley Tigers Softball Stadium.

Alesia Ranches got it going with a double in the bottom of the first inning followed by Anastasia Iosia's homer to right field. An inning later, the duo cashed in again with Ranches knocking another double, this time bringing in Caisha Nunes for a score. Iosia followed with another RBI by singling to centerfield to make it 4-0.

Tracie Okumura led off the top of the third with a home run to get Mililani on the scoreboard, but Campbell responded with seven runs in the bottom half of the frame to put the game out of reach.

Ranches went 3 for 3 with three runs scored, two RBIs and one walk. Iosia finished 2 for 4 with three RBIs and one run scored. Trinity Favela also slammed a double to bring in two runs while Zoie Recolan hit 2 for 3 with two RBIs off a double to left field.

Mililani used four different pitchers who combined to give up nine walks with eight of the 12 runs allowed counting as earned.

In the bottom of the first inning, Campbell's Chloe Domingo hit a screamer heading over the left field wall, but Mililani's Kamryn Sasaki tracked it down to rob it as she crashed over the collapsible fence.

The Sabers will finish the regular season at 9-3 and clinch a first round bye in the OIA Playoffs later this month. Campbell was scheduled to play Nanakuli on Saturday, but the Golden Hawks forfeited the rest of the season back in March.

The Trojans will finish with Pearl City (6-4) on Saturday at 7 p.m. back at McKinley Tigers Softball Stadium. They will also play Leilehua in a make-up game Tuesday, April 17 at their home field.
