ALIAMANU — The rain may have let up over Admiral Arthur W. Radford High School Thursday afternoon, but the errors kept pouring in for the Rams' softball team.

The beneficiary?

Visiting Waialua, who earned its first win on the field in 23 days with a 13-7 win over Radford in a key Oahu Interscholastic Association Division II matchup.

The Bulldogs capitalized on a season-high seven errors by Radford to improve to 6-1 in the league standings.

With Anuenue forfeiting its season and all the various postponements due to inclement weather, it was the first time that Waialua took to the field since a 11-7 loss to Aiea on March 26. Before that contest, the Bulldogs last played in a 15-14 win over Kaimuki on March 13.

Regardless, it was Radford that looked a little rusty as it suffered its first loss of the season and dropped to 9-1 in league play.

The Rams suffered miscues from the start.

After Waialua leadoff hitter Trinity Ozoa singled to right field, Zoey Lawrence reached after an error by the Rams' infield. The loose ball rolled to an outfielder, but a throwing error on the play allowed Ozoa to score the first run of the game.

A sacrifice fly by Andrea Dicion plated Lawrence to extend the Bulldogs' lead before the Rams retired the next two batters in order thanks to a strikeout by Elisa Santoyo and a popout to third baseman Kenci Faith.

The Rams responded in the bottom of the first after back-to-back one-out doubles by Nohea Akana and Selina Tavarez made it a 2-1 game after the opening inning.

Radford committed another error in the next stanza, but Santoyo struck out nine-hole hitter Sophia Manalo to end the threat.

The home team had its most productive inning in the bottom of the second as the Rams sent eight batters to the plate to take a 4-2 lead. Leadoff hitter Kaylee Roberts drove in courtesy runner Maliyah Donaldson to tie the game and Akana had a bases-loaded walk to score Alden Steyaert to pull ahead. Tavarez also had a sac fly to plate the Rams' last run of the inning.

Waialua knotted things up in the next half-inning after Dicion hit a two-run homer to left field to score herself and Lawrence, the game's winning pitcher.
