Ching powers Roosevelt over Moanalua

Sophomore outfielder Hoku Ching blasted a two-run home run and added another run in the fifth inning to lead visiting Roosevelt over Moanalua, 3-1, in an Oahu Interscholastic Association Division I-East contest Tuesday afternoon.

Kanilehua Pitoy also scored as the Rough Riders, ranked eighth in the ScoringLive/Hawaiian Electric Softball Power Rankings, improved to 3-0 atop the conference standings. 

Tiani Sniffen drove in Ching on a sac fly in the top of the fifth to round out the visitors' scoring.

Junior pitcher Jaeda Cabunoc scattered five hits and struck out four in a complete game effort to get the win for Roosevelt.

The lone score for Na Menehune came in the when Caydees Santella Delima cranked a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth.

Jada Young took the loss in the circle for Moanalua.
