WAIPAHU — Amber Tadeo-Gilbert scored a pair of goals to lead No. 2 Mililani to a 6-1 win over Kamehameha-Maui in the quarterfinals of The Queen's Medical Center/HHSAA Division I Girls Soccer State Championships at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium Thursday night.

The Trojans improved to 12-0-2 with the win and punched their ticket to Friday's semifinals where they will face defending state champion Iolani.

The Warriors, runners-up of the Maui Interscholastic League, fell to 7-3-2 with the loss and will face third-seeded Hilo in a 3 p.m. consolation match Friday at Field No. 8.

Mililani took a 2-0 lead into halftime after goals by Tehani Furuta, in the 10th minute, and Aiayna Fuamatu-Maafala, in the 35th.

Tadeo-Gilbert found the back of the next twice in the first 20 minutes of the second half. She scored in the 43rd and 60th minutes to make it a 4-0 lead for the Trojans.

Kira Nishiki and Mackenzie Reed added goals for Mililani in the 64th and 72nd minutes, respectively.

Kamehameha-Maui, which was coming off a 1-0 overtime win over Waipahu in Monday's first round, got its lone goal Thursday from Kamalei Roback in the 76th minute.

"We were fortunate that we were able to get one or two goals early, so it allowed us to kind of settle down, but I've got to give credit to Kamehameha," Trojans coach Ray Akiona said. "They just went all the way to the end and even coming and getting a score like that shows that they play hard ball, they play all the way, they commit to the game so I'm very proud of them as an opponent that they continued to press on even though the score was a little favored in our direction."

Sydni Nakamura had five saves in goal for the Trojans, while Makamae Aquino posted three stops for the Warriors.

Mililani, which had a first-round bye Monday, is seeking its first return to the title game since 2015, when it defeated Iolani for its fourth state championship.

The teams also met in the semifinals of last year's state tournament, with the Raiders coming away with a 3-0 victory.

"Iolani is a well-poised team and so I think our composure is going to be a key tomorrow, how we maintain that and so we're going to focus on that and hopefully play with more composure than we did today," Akiona said.

Kickoff between the Trojans and Raiders is slated for 5 p.m. in the Waipio main stadium.
