Kahuku announced on Thursday the selection of Sterling Carvalho as its new football coach.

Carvalho, who served as JV head coach for the Red Raiders the past three seasons, has coached multiple sports over 17 years at the school, according to the announcement made on KahukuHigh.org. He becomes the fifth different coach in the last six seasons for the Red Raiders.

Kahuku went 11-2 this season under Makoa Freitas and claimed its 26th Oahu Interscholastic Association title en route to a third straight appearance in the state championship game.

The Red Raiders made it to the OIA Division I JV title game in the three years that Carvalho served as head coach, last winning it in 2015 over Waianae.
