For eight minutes this looked a tightly contested battle.

Then No. 1 Maryknoll turned it into a track meet.

The Spartans rallied from a 19-16 first quarter deficit to sprint their way to a 82-43 win over visiting Iolani Wednesday night in an Interscholastic League of Honolulu Division I contest at Tony Sellitto Court at Clarence T.C. Ching Gymnasium.

Kamalu Kamakawiwoole scored 16 points and Bella Cravens added 15 to help Maryknoll finish the league's first round with a 10-0 record.

Iolani, who dropped to 7-3, was led by Lily Lefotu Wahinekapu's 12 points in the loss.

The Raiders will travel to Kamehameha Thursday night in a playoff game to determine second place of the league's first round.
