No. 4 Maryknoll tops No. 2 Kamehameha

Maryknoll continued its winning ways with a 50-39 win over visiting Kamehameha Tuesday night at Tony Sellitto Court at Clarence T.C. Ching Gymnasium.

The Spartans, ranked fourth in the ScoringLive/Hawaiian Electric Boys Basketball Power Rankings, outscored the second-ranked Warriors in every quarter after the opening period to improve to 4-1 in the Interscholastic League of Honolulu Division I standings.

Jaylen Cain scored 14 points, Marcus Tobin had 13 and Isiah Gelacio knocked down three triples and finished with 11 points to lead Maryknoll, who won its fourth straight game after dropping its league opener.

Kamehameha (3-2), who was without senior guard Kamren Victorino-Kato (18.5 PPG), was led by Kobe Young's game-high 20 points. The Warriors were also without starters Hoku Arias and Lele Kawaiaea, who is 6-foot-5.
