Big third quarter powers Aiea past Nanakuli

Visiting Aiea used a dominating third quarter to dispatch Nanakuli, 64-48, in an Oahu Interscholastic Association Western Division game at Hugh Taufaasau Court Wednesday night.

Na Alii held a 27-26 lead at the half before outscoring the Golden Hawks 23-3 in the third period to blow the game wide open. The strong second half surge helped Aiea improve to 6-0 in league play.

Jamie Amos was Aiea's leading scorer with 17 points and two made triples. Reserve Micah White-Hikalea was also key, scoring 12 of his 14 points in the decisive third quarter.

Jayden Wyatt scored a game-high 22 points to lead the Golden Hawks (1-4) in the loss.
