Waiakea tops Sacred Hearts, 55-50

Waiakea defeated host Sacred Hearts, 55-50, to take third place in the inaugural Orthopedic Associates Sacred Hearts Invitational Saturday.

Zaelynn Lui-Cabinatan had 15 points, Keeli-Jade Smith added nine more and Kelsie Imai had a solid all-around game with seven points, seven rebounds, five assists, three steals and three blocks to lead the Warriors in the win.

Dallas Martinez had 25 points and seven rebounds to lead Sacred Hearts in the loss.

The Lancers defeated Hawaii Baptist in the semifinals, but agreed to play for third place because they would have faced Interscholastic League of Honolulu Division I foe Kamehameha in the championship final. The two teams also open up the regular season against each othern next Thursday.
