Visiting Dana Hills dominate Kaiser Invitational

Dana Hills dominated all four races that were held at Kaiser High School Saturday morning.

The Dolphins travelled all the way from Dana Point, California and competed in the 3-mile race against schools from the Oahu Interscholastic Association.

Dana Hill's varsity girls placed first in the team rankings with a score of 18 points. Leading the Dolphins was Sarah Meng, who placed first with a time of 20 minutes and 23 seconds. Another Dolphin, Leila Keyvan, finished second with a time of 20 minutes and 27 seconds. Dana Hills had a total of 10 varsity girl runners and seven of them finished in the top 10.

Moanalua's Brooklyn Allen placed third with a time of 20 minutes and 36 seconds.

Na Menehune finished second in the team rankings with a score of 116 points.

Nanakuli's Caitlin Kawaiaea was the second Hawaii finisher with a time of 21 minutes and 24 seconds in eighth place, and Kalaheo's Alyssa Robinson finished with a time of 22 minutes and two seconds to round out the top 10.

Pearl City finished third with a team score of 119. The Chargers top runner Sasha Lee finished at No. 11 with a time of 22 minutes and seven seconds.

For the varsity boys race, the Dana Hills team dominated again with a team score of 20, but Kalaheo's Colby Otero finished in first place with a time of 16 minutes and 48 seconds. This was the only race in which a Dana Hills runner did not finish in first place.

Castle's Hudson Lockette finished second with a time of 17 minutes and 19 seconds.

Dana Hills Sagan Svoboda placed third with a time of 17 minutes and 23 seconds.

Campbell's Noah Roberts was the next Hawaii finisher, placing No. 11 with a time of 18 minutes and two seconds.

Radford finished in second place with a team score of 170, and Kalani finished third with a score of 171. The top finishers for the Rams and Falcons were Killian Heninger (No. 26 - 18:59.07) and Justin Berry (No. 23 - 18:48.84), respectively.

Dana Hills junior varsity teams both finished first in the team rankings and had runners that finished in first place in each race. Carrick Denker won his race with a time of 17 minutes 34 seconds and Alexa Karner won her race with a time of 21 minutes and 58 seconds.
