All-Hawaii second-team linebacker Dylan Toilolo has transferred from defending state Open champion Saint Louis to Kapolei, Hurricanes coach Darren Hernandez confirmed.

Hernandez said Toilolo registered at Kapolei Thursday, which also was his first day of practice with his new team.  Under Oahu Interscholastic Association rules, Toilolo is immediately eligible to play because he is transferring from a non-OIA school and Kapolei is his home-school residency, Hernandez said

Toilolo, a 5-11, 200-pound senior, was a starting linebacker for the Crusaders.  Hernandez said Toilolo is so quick and fast that he is being pegged to play both linebacker and strong safety.

"I think his college potential is as a free safety," Hernandez said.

He is a welcome addition, as the Hurricanes lost all four starters in the defensive backfield as well as two of their four linebackers.
