Iolani wasted no time in its first best of five match of the season Tuesday evening.

The Raiders looked dominant as they swept visiting Maryknoll (6-5), 25-20, 25-13, 26-24, to improve to 8-3 in the Interscholastic League of Honolulu Division I standings.

Hugh Hogland led the way for Iolani with 17 kills and seven digs. His brother, Cole Hogland, and junior outside hitter Ryan Van Cantfort added eight kills each.

The Raiders' offense looked unstoppable, tallying 39 assists for the match. When Iolani did give the ball up, the Spartans weren't able to take advantage and recorded 27 errors on the night.

Iolani has won two out of its three meetings with Maryknoll this year and will not play them again during the regular season.

With the victory the Raiders strengthen their grip on second place in the standings and will look to extend their two-game win streak when they play at Saint Louis on Saturday.

Matthew Sun had five kills to go along with nine digs for Maryknoll who will attempt to snap a two-game skid at Mid-Pacific on Thursday.
