Twelve to be honored at National Football Foundation banquet


The National Football Foundation Hawaii Chapter will honor 12 recipients at the annual Scholar-Athlete Awards Banquet April 30 at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel, Monarch Room.

The 12 players honored were selected for academic achievement, community service and athletic abilities in football.

The 12 are:

Helam Baldomero, Iolani

Jonah Buchanan, Iolani

Kekaula Kaniho, Kahuku

Andrew Kaufusi, Kaiser

John Phifer, Leilehua

Nicholas Garcia, Island Pacific Academy (Pac-Five)

Spencer Cox, Maryknoll (Pac-Five)

Nicholas Kapule, Punahou

Andrew Martinson, Punahou

Michael Minihan, Saint Louis

Braeden Meyer, Saint Louis

Dylan-James Silva, Saint Louis

Keynote speaker for the banquet is Cal State Fullerton athetic director Jim Donovan, who is the forrmer AD at Hawaii-Manoa.

Tickets to the banquet is $80 (random seating), $900 for a Gold Circle Table (10 persons) and $800 for a regular table (10 persons).

Deadline for reservations is April 22. Table selections will be on a first come basis.
