Moanalua got another win under its belt before its mainland trip with a 25-19, 25-16 victory over visiting Kalaheo Wednesday night in an Oahu Interscholastic Association Eastern Division contest.

Na Menehune (2-0), winners of the last six OIA Division I titles, will return to the Best of the West Boys Volleyball Invitational in in San Diego this weekend, along with Punahou and Iolani. Moanalua took ninth place in the gold division in last year's tourney.

Moanalua senior Zackary Miyamoto, who had five kills, nine digs, eight assists and three aces to lead the team, was excited about the chance to test their skills against some of the top teams from the mainland.

"We just have to focus on one match at a time and not get intimidated because some of those teams are so much bigger," said Miyamoto.

The defending OIA champions started both sets a little slow, but turned it up at the halfway mark to record their second win in three nights.

"It was little sloppy, but as the the old saying goes, a win is a win," said Moanalua coach Alan Cabanting. "The boys have the trip on their mind, and it will be another great experience for them."

Kaimi Ahn-DiFolco led the Mustangs (0-2) in the loss with four kills.
